چکیده

Meloxicam (MLX) is non-steroidal anti -inflammatory, poorly water soluble, highly permeable drug and the rate of its oral absorption often controlled by dissolution in gastrointestinal tract. Solid dispersion (SD) an effective technique for enhancing solubility such drug.
The present study aims to enhance MLX SD solvent evaporation method using sodium alginate (SA), hyaluronic acid (HA), collagen xyloglucan (XG) as gastro-protective hydrophilic natural polymers.
Twelve formulas were prepared different drug: polymer ratios evaluated their, percentage yield, content, solubility, dissolution, crystal lattice powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) studies Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) determination drug-polymer interaction.
All showed improvement except that with HA. best result was obtained formula SD1 (MLX: SA 1:1) a high yield (97), content (97.4±0.05) increase compared pure improved rate. PXRD revealed conversion amorphous form without chemical interaction according FTIR results
